Gavin Porter is an emerging artist whose practice focuses on illustrations suggestive of graphic novels both in style and content. The works reveal quirky narratives in which recurring characters might engage in struggles between good and evil or post-apocalyptic survival. Speculative Future Postcard is a starkly rendered work depicting a futuristic world where we see an androgynous figure consumed with a sense of purpose below a billboard touting the breaking news. Gavin Porter has worked at Arts Project since 2007 and has exhibited in numerous group shows in Australia.
