With a career spanning over 30 years, Valerio Ciccone employs an idiosyncratic and fluid style to depict a diverse range of subject matter including portraits, animals, still life and pop culture icons. Initially working with watercolours, Ciccone's practice has shifted to focus on pastel as a preferred medium, occasionally drawing upon monochromatic schemes and text-based imagery. This beautiful still life is rendered so softly it appears as if in a dream, the collection of household objects stacked neatly together creating an elegantly balanced composition.
