Inspired by the porphyry carvings of the ancient world. The highly polished stone carved to model a pair of Egyptian sphinxes, a mythical creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion. Modelled in a seated position, wearing a Nemes headdress on an integral rectangular stepped pedestal base. These substantial sculptures weight approximately 900 kg each.
