Dicks' Whale is refreshing in its simplicity, the broad brushstrokes capturing the movement of the water and the scene itself reminiscent of an animation still.

Simeon Dicks is an emerging artist who draws inspirations from many facets of pop culture. Taking reference from television shows, celebrities and animals, Dicks uses a multimedia approach to construct these works, often drawing an outline in marker or pencil and filling them in with acrylic paint. His works have a painterly quality that captures his good nature and playful sense of humour through the use of smooth, variegated colours and his characters joyful expressions.
Dicks has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2016 and has exhibited in Arts Project Australia's annual group exhibitions.
