Hamra's elegant work in a saturated ink palette appears like a cityscape at dusk, the line and brushwork are fresh and loose.
Nouha Hamra is a late-career emerging artist who has an experimental practice, using mediums such as acrylic, gouache, ink, pencil, paint pen and marker on paper to test ideas. Currently, she is creating bright, semi abstract and figurative works that are inspired by a sense of place and family. She is a wonderful colourist and conceptual pattern maker, who occasionally adds considered, gentle line and text.
Hamra joined Arts Project Australia in 2019 and the Virtual Gala will be her second exhibition with Arts Project Australia.
