In Nicolaides' Untitled the tightly woven linework seems to build from the base of the piece to what appears to be an abstracted city or landscape.
Andrew Nicolaides is an emerging artist working in acrylic, ink, paint pen and felt-tipped marker on paper. He creates intricate abstract images by linking shapes that merge in a stream of assured line and well-combined colours. Shape and colour intertwine to form beauty and movement in his artworks, embodying a rhythmic sensibility that brings his work to life.
Nicolaides has worked at Arts Project since 2018 and has exhibited at Arts Project Australia annually. His work is held in private collections in Australia.
