The whimsical, floating graphic quality of Eyes in Nigem's selected piece is refreshing in its simplicity and sense of space.

Maria Nigem is an emerging artist who creates sensitively rendered works on paper. Starting with a greylead pencil outline, she delicately colours her artworks with thin layers of watercolour paint. Animals such as swans, butterflies and flowers are recurring motifs lending a tender impression to her work.

Nigem has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2018 and has exhibited yearly in group shows. Her work is held in private collections in Australia.
