Jillian Richards is an emerging figurative artist who has a distinct style. Whether she is applying acrylic or gouache to her paper, she builds up layers of gestural marks to form animals and people. There is a rhythmic movement in her mark-making, which she applies in gentle strokes that creates a dreamlike atmosphere for the viewer to decipher the form from its background.

Richards has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2018 and has exhibited in Arts Project Australia's annual group exhibitions.
