This work by Christopher Sahyoun is a wionderful example of his practice and is particularly charismatic, the multi-coloured linework forming dusty islands of pigment.
Chris Sahyoun's abstract works are sensitive in their build-up of patterned compositions and multi-coloured line work counters, with arcs and coloured swatches of ink mark-making over the bold acrylic background. The transparent washes, line and loose gestural brush marks create depth and space in the work, and the combination of various mediums applied over the top of paintings, including greylead pencil and charcoal, afford the works elegance and movement.
Sahyoun (b 1977) has worked in the Arts Project studio since 2012 and has exhibited in Arts
Arts Project Australia: Virtual Gala
