The depiction of seafaring vessels is a strong focus for Sturrock, the loose brushwork giving motion to the ocean and sails of the ship.
Malcolm Sturrock works across a wide range of media including painting, printmaking, soft sculpture and ceramics. His eclectic approach to his art practice means he explores a wide range of themes and motifs including ships, animals, landscapes and quirky characters from popular culture.
Sturrock has been coming to Arts Project Australia since 2004 and held his first solo exhibition in 2019. He has been included in numerous group exhibitions in Australia and has been a finalist in Connected and the ANL Maritime Art Prize several times.
