Taking up painting in 1992, Narputta was the wife of Timmy Tjungurrayi Judadai who was one of the original Papunya Tula artists in the 1970s and 1980s. As a highly respected artist, she was appointed custodian for the Ikuntji community in Haasts Bluff.
