A RARE CHINESE TAOIST ZODIAC ALTAR VASE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1912), 19TH CENTURY

Of hexagonal section baluster form, decorated with high relief applique figures, each carrying an animal representing the Chinese zodiac signs. The whole covered in a deep brown/black glaze. Six character impressed Xuande mark on the base.
35.5cm high, 17cm diameter

Restored chip to the mouth rim. Restored chip to the foot rim. Evidence of a small area of restoration to one point of the shoulder.
