Baron Mayer De Rothschild, original resident of Mentmore towers, married his only daughter, Hannah De Rothschild to Archibald Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery, in 1878.
This display cabinet, originally forming part of the furnishings of Mentmore was later gifted to Lady Helen Dorothy Primrose, before the auction of the contents in 1977. Hence by decent to Lady Potter and Countess Krasicki v Siecin.
