Mid-Edo Period, early 18th century, decorated with scattered nashiji, decoration of takamakie, hiramakie, keuchi and kirikane of both silver and gold, with a design of four deer by a river with chrysanthemum and autumn grasses, the interior with two trays, ink stone and gilt bronze water dropper.

Exterior cover: two small pits to lower centre edge, gilt lacquer worn on edge of chamfer, small raised section to silver moon top left, tiny pits to each bottom corner
Inside cover: small loss to lacquer inside top right corner join
Interior base: separation of join to bottom left corner which continues along bottom edge for approximately 3cm, evident from underside of base, slight wear inside on bottom panel from ink stone
Trays and inkstone: gilt on water dropper worn
