A BAN CHIANG TERRACOTTA VESSEL
Thailand circa 200 BC, the globular body and short neck with everted rim, decorated all over with a swirling design in iron red mineral pigment.
Height 22cm

Estimate $1,000 - $1,500

Sold for $1,400

Small drill marks to rim (likely from thermoluminescence testing), four chips to underside of rim, 1cm gauge to body, some areas of wear to the pigment, some black marks to clay, no visible signs of repair (inspected under UV light)
