The wide rectangular board decorated in low relief gilded intaglio with a four-character inscription against a red ground reading 'Ming Jing Gao Xian' (transparency rules), traditionally hung in a local or regional magistrate's court house.

Some warping to the board, losses to the lacquer and gilding. Possibly regilt at a later date to the original manufacture.
