Lot 15
18TH CENTURY
The circular embroidered fabric top, raised on three scrolling supports, richly modelled with foliate and shell decoration.
39cm high
Estimate $300 - $500
PLEASE NOTE REVISED CONDITION REPORT
The structure of the stool appears sound overall with no apparent breaks or splits; however, there are deep shrinkage cracks to the gesso decoration and wear to the gilding throughout; there is a small old nail driven into the side of one leg (not conspicuous) but the purpose of this is not clear as there is no sign around it of other disturbance or repair, nor are there any apparent repairs elswhere.
The opinions expressed in the condition reports are a guide only and should not be treated as a statement of fact. Prospective buyers are encouraged to inspect articles for sale at our pre-sale viewing where Leonard Joel staff are available for advice.
