Early 19th century, the high arched backs with central splats above shaped seat rails, the black ground with raised painted and gilded figures and birds in oriental landscapes, on cabriole legs, upholstered in fabric from the Thomas Hamel Collection.

Both chairs in good condition consistent with age and use, slight separation to the joints, some wear to the decoration with small losses in a few areas.
