EDO PERIOD (1603-1867)
The first, an early three case inro on a dark ground of a tiger crouching on the ground in a bamboo forest with accompanying wood netsuke; the second a four case inro on a Kinji ground showing a classic dragon in clouds and Mount Fuji theme (verso); the netsuke of a sleeping tiger cub in staghorn.
The inros 7.5cm x 5cm & 9cm x 5.5cm
Estimate $800 - $900
The first with overall wear consistent with age, some cracking to himotoshi edges, and previous restoration to top case.
The second with rubbing overall, losses to tiger and rock decoration, minor dents to himotoshi edges.
