A COLLECTION OF JAPANESE SMOKING IMPLEMENTS
MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), 19TH CENTURY

Three charming Senryu-Zutsu (single section) pipe cases; the first in carved wood from a natural branch; the second from a piece of dark polished wood (possibly ebony) and accompanying jar shaped toggle; the third a carved bamboo pipecase alongside a richly polished burlwood tonkotsu.
The largest 26cm long

Overall condition good, consistent with age and use. Some pipes parts loose
