Surface dirt, repaired crack to plaster lower left corner, repaired break at neck with chip and crack to gold paint at front and back, repaired break to tip of hair with one loss, chip to lower right corner at back, some losses to lacquer on base

At age 15 Tribe began her studies at the East Sydney Technical College (later known as the National Art School). After completing the course she was selected by sculptor Rayner Hoff to enter his three-year sculpture diploma which she completed the year this sculpture was created (1933). Another cast is held in the collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
