The frame appears to be in largely original condition and retaining its original gilding – oil gilt with water gilt highlights, now somewhat dull – but there are a number of small losses to the pressed composition decoration scattered throughout, and a larger loss to the right lower edge of the frame, together with many fine shrinkage cracks. The plate appears to be a replacement.
