This work draws on a medieval aesthetic often explored by the artist, the softly rendered iconography floating in the foreground, a castle in the distance.

Matthew Dearing is an emerging artist whose Esher-like architectural imagery rendered in pencil and fine liner is highly developed. The works offer an intriguing take in the traditional blueprint, with the occasional medieval imagery and graffiti aesthetics brought to life introduces colour eliciting an almost psychedelic stylistic effect. Matthew Dearing has worked at the Arts Project Australia studio since 2017 and has exhibited in group exhibitions in Melbourne.
