The tapestry has not been examined out of its frame but appears to be without damage. It does appears a little discolored (browned), and there are old damp stains, most noticeably in the upper half of the work.
The tapestry is mounted and glazed within a modern frame which is in good condition excepting occasional minor bumps and scuffs.

Talgai Homestead, Allora, Queensland; reputedly part of the first furnishings of that historic house upon its completion in 1868, the tapestry said to have been acquired in Tasmania to which it had been brought from Britain in 1850.
