Label affixed verso reads: This woodcut is printed entirely from woodblocks cut by the artist. In the production of each subject a number of blocks are required, a separate one being cut for the printing of each colour in the picture. They are printed under the supervision of the artist, and each block with its colour is superimposed on the paper, until the finished result is obtained. The blocks are made of sycamore, maple, or boxwood.
