A PAIR OF ANGLO INDIAN SOLID EBONY ELBOW CHAIRS
Each with a reeded top rail centred with a carved palmette, the pierced back rail with central palmette roundel flanked by lotus flowers, having scrolled arms on reeded baluster supports, cane seat and reeded inverted baluster legs, the cane seat with a loose squab cushion upholstered in antique French brocade.

1: repair to left-hand armrest where it joins the back, traces of old paint on backrail, repairs to join between armrest scrolls and uprights, some expansion cracks throughout but structurally sound
2: replaced section to armrest where it joins the back on left-hand side, some expansion cracks throughout but structurally sound, small section of turned moulding at bottom of right-hand front leg missing
