A NORTH INDIAN BLACK STONE TORSO OF VISHNU
10th-12th Century, the god with downcast expression, wearing earrings and a fragmentary diadem, draped loincloth, and flanked by Varaha in the form of a boar, on modern metal stand.
Height 61cm excluding stand

Estimate $15,000 - $25,000

Statue is probably originally removed from a temple or frieze therefore losses to edges and throughout. Section of diadem missing, chip to nose, left pectoral and belly. Stand has discolouration to metal.
