ARTIST'S STATEMENT: "An artificial plant is animated with a series of servo motors which slowly move each branch. The plant contains a light sensor programmed so that if a shadow falls on the plant, the motion will suddenly stop ~ much like real plants which are dependent on light, but the suddenness of this action anthropomorphises it, making it appear shy around people."
