An avid traveller, Jessie returned to France during 1925 and 1926. She documented through regular poems and essays her visits to cathedrals, churches, and fortresses, referencing the architecture and richly carved details.
"Every village has one with some little jewel to show…Corinthian pillars and beautifully carved figures - a church set on a hill rising by steps above the surrounding houses, light and joyful, decorated in every corner, 15th & 16th century windows of brightness and colour to complete the whole." (Jessie Traill, 1925)

We would like to thank Jo Oliver for her kind assistance in cataloguing this work.
