The Property of a Gentleman, NSW
Alphonse Colle was mainly known for his monumental civic sculpture in many French towns, he was a pupil of Aristide Croisy. The bronze appears to represent a scene from the parable of the Prodigal Son, depicting the downcast youth having spent his inheritance being reduced to looking after the pigs and willingly eating the husks that were fed to the pigs.
