A CHINESE WHITE JADE-INSET GILT COPPER BELT BUCKLE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1912), 18TH CENTURY

清十八世紀 嵌白玉銅帶扣

The oval-shaped jade plaque of fine white hue, finely carved in low relief with an archaistic qilong, inset into a gilded copper belt setting with relief decoration of bats and peaches.
The jade plaque 4.5cm high, 5.75cm wide. The setting 6cm high, 7cm wide.

Estimate $2,000 - $3,000

Sold for $3,600

No visible faults or damage to the jade plaque. Old wear to the gilding on the setting. The two original loupes for the belt have been removed and replaced with a brooch pin for use as a brooch in the West.
