Lot 514
The freeform claw-set carved green jadeite plaque set upon an open frame of geometric motif, accented with black enamel and bead-set single-cut diamonds, the diamonds together weighing approximately 0.14 carats, mounted in platinum and 14ct white gold, with a 9ct gold pin, length 57mm, width 24mm, total gross weight approximately 20 grams.
Accompanied by a fitted box.
Estimate $2,400 - $3,800
In our opinion the jadeite is light to mid-green intact, with some clouds, streaks and mottling. Moderate translucency. The diamonds are bright and lively, probably of G/H colour and VS/SI clarity, as gauged and graded within the limitations of the cutting style and the mounting. Enamel is in-tact has some nicks and scratches. The mounting has wear to the metal in the form of minor scratches. Pin secure.
The brooch is of very good workmanship with signs of wear consistent with age and use, not noticeable when worn.
Overall condition is very good.
