Lot 45
Of cluster design, centring a claw-set oval-cut ruby weighing 1.60 carats, within a surround of brilliant-cut diamonds and a further surround of marquise-cut diamonds, the diamonds together weighing approximately 1.47 carats, mounted in 18ct white gold, size N, gross weight approximately 4.8 grams.
Accompanied by a facsimile Klepner's Gem Identification Report numbered 20160413/10, dated 13 April 2016, stating that the 1.60 carat ruby is natural, with evidence of heat treatment, of Burma origin.
Estimate $4,000 - $6,000
In our opinion, the ruby is of pinkish red hue, with moderate saturation, some typical inclusions, some minor scratches to the surface. The diamonds are bright and lively, probably G to H colour and VS to SI clarity, as gauged and graded within the limitations of the cutting style and the mounting.
The mounting displays very minor scratches commensurate with age and wear.
The ring is of good workmanship with signs of wear consistent with age and use, not noticeable when worn.
Overall condition is very good.
