"Created at Arlparra, Utopia, Northern Territory, during the Utopia Batik Revival Workshop 2007 conducted by Julia Murray, founding co-ordinator of Utopia Batik, 1978-1982. This work is an unusual and delicate depiction of swathes of leaves, in greens and yellow on a purple ground, yet it is unmistakably a Utopia Batik. Unmistakable, because of the looseness of form and because of its inventiveness.
Audrey- along with her sisters Lucky, Ruby, Sarah and Lily Lion - was a young woman when she began painting as one of the original artists when the Utopia Women's Batik Group was established in the late 1970s. Her batiks are held in many private collections, as well as the Holmes a Court collection."
