Probably purchased by Royall Tyler on 30 January 1912 from Joseph Brummer Curiosités, Paris (see Met Watson Library Digital Collections record number b16669009, p. 82):
"13 Vendu a Mr Thyler / une statuette chinoise 700-"
Elisina Tyler (wife of Royall Tyler) mentions in a letter to Mildred Bliss two "little Chinese ladies" as being in their new flat on 1 December 1913.
