A QUEEN ANNE WALNUT LONG CASE CLOCK
Circa 1710, the eight day movement by John Hill, King Street Covent Garden, with silvered chapter ring, roman hours and arabic minutes, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, the spandrels with putti holding a crown; the hood with cornice above a plain frieze, the door with engaged columns, the moulded trunk door with matched veneers and lenticle glass, the sides with feather banded panels on a base with moulded foot.

The case with loss to veneer to upper left edge on the side of the hood, splits to left side panel of the hood, small section of veneer replaced to upper left side, lock mechanism on hood loose, wear to dial, overall wear consistent with age and use.

John Hill was born in 1678 and apprenticed in July 1672 being freed of his apprenticeship in April 1703.
