A CHINESE BLACK 'TIXI' LACQUER BOWL MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
The exterior of the bowl is deeply carved through layers of black and red lacquer with ruyi-shaped cloud scrolls, the interior and base along with the rims lined with a metal alloy fitting. It's with a fitted box.

This bowl is in good condition, but there is a small area of crack (approx. 7mm long) to the foot, just above the metal base. There is some minor dents, scratches and oxidization to the metal areas which are all consistent with age and use.
