A GROUP OF EIGHT PORCELAIN PLATES FROM VARIOUS ROYAL, VICEREGAL AND COMPANY SERVICES
1. The Honourable East India Company armorial plate, Flight Barr & Barr, circa 1835, painted with the company coat of arms, within a gilt border with scrolls and painted with trailing pink roses, printed puce and impressed marks.
2. The Maharaja of Rajpipla, Sir Vijaysinhji Chhatrasinhji GBE KCSI, Minton, circa 1920, painted with the Arms of the royal Gohil dynasty to a yellow border decorated in gilt and black.
3. The Nawab Amir of Bahalwalpur, General Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi GCSI GCIE KCVO, Minton, 1929, decorated with the Coat of Arms of the royal Daudputra dynasty flanked by pelican supporters, with the motto of the Nawab in Farsi, dost sadiq (faithful friend) and the insignia of the Order of the Star of India suspended below, on a European landscape within a turquoise-ground border of raised gilt with palmettes and bellflowers, and raised pearls.
4. The Maharaja Gaekwar of Baroda, Shrimant Maharaja Sir Sayajirao III Gaekwad GCSI GCIE, Minton, 1920, centred by the emblem of the royal Gaekwad dynasty with crimson ground border and gilt decoration.
5. The Viceroy of India The Most Hon Lord Rufus Daniel Isaacs GCB GCSI GCIE GCVO PC, 1st Marquess of Reading, Minton, 1926, made to celebrate Lord Reading's elevation as the 1st Marquess of Reading in 1926, centred by the Star of a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Star of India in gilt with raised pearl decoration, with the monogram of the Marquess of Reading to the rim decorated in gilt.
6. King Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia (Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud), Heinrich, circa 1945-1950, the crimson ground border edged in gilt with the emblem of the House of Saud in gilt to the rim.
7. Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran, the last Shah of Iran, Heinrich, circa 1967, Mazarin blue ground border with richly decorated gilt borders and the Arms of the Shah of Iran, possibly ordered for use at the Shah's Coronation banquet in Tehran in October 1967.
