Peta O'Brien's multidisciplinary art practice sees her creating hand-made c ceramics and using the various textile arts like knitting, sewing and embroidery. Her textile art has been a therapeutic tool for her emotional well-being. She sews, twists, knots and embroiders vintage found fabrics to create unique works of art which become the snitched memories of her journey.

Ceramics and textile art symbolise community and have been present in every culture since the Gravettian's. Recently both art forms have re-emerged and are now on the rise, deemed to be, 'the cool things to collect'. The curiosity and new appreciation of civilisation's most ancient activities is reflected in the global sale results. O'Brien references Louise Bourgeois, who once said: 'The act of sewing is a process of emotional repair' and notes Bourgeois as being an influence on her own practice.
