Two sideboards of this design but with variations in decorative details have been sold at auction in Britain in the past two decades (Lyon and Turnbull, Decorative Arts, Edinburgh, 14 November 2007, lot 274, in oak; and Anderson and Garland, Fine Art, Newcastle, 14 September 2017, lot 1233, in walnut). The first of these was described as 'Scottish' – presumably meaning the Glasgow School – and the second as being by Shapland & Petter but without any indication of the basis of that attribution.
