A UNIQUE "LION CHAIR" DESIGNED BY EMMA, MARCHIONESS OF BATH
The panelled back painted with a lion mask wearing a stylised image of Longleat House, the uprights with grotesque mask finials, the armrests carved as winged lion monopodiae, the upholstered seat in animal patterned tapestry fabric.

Emma Clare Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, was Viscountess Weymouth from 2013-2020. She is a British socialite and model married to Ceawlin Thynn, 8th Marquess of Bath. In 2020 she became the first black marchioness in British history. Her father, Chief Oladipo Jadesimi, is a Nigerian oil billionaire and her mother Suzanna McQuiston is an English socialite. After her marriage to the Marquess of Bath, Emma became chatelaine of Longleat's estate and safari park.

This chair was created by Emma when she was the Viscountess Weymouth for the Bonhams Charity Auction "Sitting Pretty" in 2016, in aid of CHIVA Africa, a South African AIDS charity. The sale featured 30 chairs designed by a range of celebrities, artists and designers.
