In good condition consistent with age, with some slight age-related shrinkage cracking to the gilt gesso ground around the figures.

The frame has shrinkage gaps to the mitres of its bevelled sight edge at the lower corners, with some associated small losses to the adjacent gilt gesso surface; minor shrinkage gaps and occasional scattered surface losses generally; and scattered old worm holes; otherwise in good condition.
