19th century and later, the giltwood base supporting a Pompeiian style tripod with sphinx terminals, centred by an enamelled timepiece signed Lenoir a Lyon, terminating in an armillary sphere.

Appears to be made up from several different elements, repairs to outer ring of armillary sphere, dirt and tarnishing to gilding on tripod, losses to gesso on square base revealing nails and gilding worn throughout.
