The painting presents well at normal viewing, with the paint layer and its varnish generally even and consistent.

Close inspection under natural and UV light indicates various small areas and points of inpainting of paint flake losses scattered throughout, this inpainting not conspicuous at normal viewing.

In places, the sight edge of the frame does not quite cover paint losses at the very edge of the canvas.

The canvas has been relined, evidently two or three decades ago.

The frame is relatively recent and remains in good condition excepting a couple of scuffs to the gilding on its outer sides.
