"The NGV show begins with a large series of photomontages, called Inside Another Land. This series of 75 works has been three years in the making, so I'm very excited and curious to both share and see for myself these pieces for the first time hung in their entirety. I feel like it's a brave move for my curator, Pip Wallis, introducing the show with a medium I am not as well known for.

The simple act of cutting and pasting is a methodology as immediate and joyous as drawing. This does, however, almost belie the complexity of these montages as I continued to resolve them through increasingly technical processes. I scanned the completed collages, then reworked them in Photoshop, increasing the scale, before printing them, and then the painter in me needed to finish them all by hand, defining them all as unique objects, not prints."
