A PAIR OF EMPIRE ORMOLU AND ROUGE MARBLE URNS AND COVERS
French circa 1805, the design atrributed to Claude Galle (1758-1815) each with a pine cone finial to the domed cover above a pierced leaf and scroll frieze and berried leaf rim, the urns with a bacchic frieze of classical maidens holding garlands of flowers, the pedestal base with masks of Mercury, on a berried laurel base and bun feet.

One urn with detached ormolu rim, the loose rim has small losses to pierced work border, cover with crack to marble on lower edge, otherwise in good original condition with slight wear to edges of ormolu.
