A EUROPEAN EBONY, TORTOISESHELL, MOTHER OF PEARL AND ENAMELLED PEWTER TABLE CABINET
Mid 17th century, the silver mounted doors opening to reveal a fitted interior and arrangement of drawers around a central cabinet enclosing an architectural mirrored "room" also sliding out with secret drawers; surrounded by drawers with silver ripple mouldings and all mounted with enamelled pewter panels of stylised flowers, the central door with a bird atop a cornucopia and flanked by herms with Saracen busts, the interiors of the doors with aedicules framed with scrolls and silver ripple moulding enclosing an arched panel of flowers; the deeply moulded plinth with a central scroll enclosing a drawer, on bracket and ball feet.

Secondary timbers are pine with poplar drawers which have fine dovetailsm drawer pulls are brass and catches appear to be gilt brass, frames have been tested as silver, and coloured panels test as pewter, will require CITES permit due to tortoiseshell inlay and kingwood inside door, ebony veneers are cracking, one mother of pearl button missing inside left hand door, scratches throughout, wear to painted decoration inside niche, losses to veneer on back.
