A GEORGE III INLAID AND DECORATED SATINWOOD SPOON URN
Late 18th century

Of Classical urn shape with a domed and moulded cover and standing on a square plinth base, the frieze of the cover inlaid with rectangular fields decorated in colours with designs of flowering foliage, the exterior variously inlaid with feather-banding and cross-banding throughout, the interior retaining its stepped spoon dividers

Various losses to the veneer in places
Minor skrinkage cracks and repairs to the veneer visible
The finial, which continues as the central shaft into the urn has become loose at the top of the cover (requires regluing)
