Standing behind a velvet-covered table with a painted tin mouse cage is a bisque-head doll with blue glass paperweight eyes, brunette mohair wig, carton torso and legs, bisque forearms, holding a baton in one hand and the string to open the mouse cage in the other, standing upon a velvet-covered plinth raised on four ball feet, when wound, two mechanisms operate in synchronism: the girl lifts her head and then lifts her left arm to open the door of the cage, allowing the mouse to timidly emerge and then whirl around as though to scurry back into the cage, music plays throughout
41cm high, the plinth 12cm wide, 20cm deep

Wear and losses visible to the paintwork to the cage and the mouse. One ear showing loses
Wear, discolouration and scuffs to the velvet covered plinth and 'table'
Girl's attire appears original, however areas of staining to the arms and body
Wear to wig, which is starting to detach from the cork plate
Body beneath clothing not inspected
