Attributed to Renou, circa 1895
Modelled as a young girl wearing silk dress and woven bonnet, standing behind a toy theatre with silk and velvet curtains, the girl with bisque head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, auburn mohair wig, cork pate, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms, all above a velvet covered plinth on four bun feet, when wound she taps the roof of the theatre and the curtain lifts revealing the little puppet who waves his arms, this repeats but when the curtain raises again the head of the puppet changes (three heads in total), music plays throughout
43cm high, the plinth 29.5cm wide and 19cm deep

Garments appear to be original and showing extensive aging, wear, fading and particularly fraying overall
Chips to two fingers
Hat likely later replaced
Doll has pierced ears, but no earrings present
Silk curtain and covering for puppet theatre likely later replaced
Wear and fading velvet base overall
Movement appears to function well, however the doll has not been played through a whole cycle.
